Cayuse Creek Ranch is owned and operated by us, Bob Coleman and Michelle Bignell, and is located in the township of Cavan Monaghan, about 20 kilometers south west of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.  The ranch consists of 110 acres of rolling pastures and hay fields and is within a few minutes on horseback of the amazing Ganaraska Forest with its 11,000 acres and 400 miles of trails.

ranchWe moved here in 2009, slightly before we retired, so we could be close to the Ganaraska Forest.  We wanted to be able to ride when we pleased and train and condition our horses for our favourite equestrian sport, endurance racing.  Since then we have retired from the sport but continue to be active recreational riders and occasional breeders of Arabian horses.

Ranch from west endFor the past 25 years the Arabian horse has been the focus of our life.  When we started endurance racing it became obvious very quickly that our quarter horses we were riding recreationally would need to be upgraded to something a little more “sporty”.

This paradise offers peace and tranquillity to us, except for the occasional whinnying of horses and the braying of donkeys.

In addition to the horses, Cayuse Creek Ranch also is the home of two donkeys (Mendigo and Pepito), two dogs (Dudley and Finnigan) and too many cats to mention. There is also a wide variety of horses being boarded.

The quaint town of Millbrook, almost unchanged from the original 19th century village, is only five kilometers north, and offers many tourist attractions as well as modern amenities.
